Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Compassionate, flexible and highly knowledgeable in the mental health treatment of children and adolescents suffering from eating disorders, you will serve as a key member of the multidisciplinary Eating Disorders Program team, providing tertiary level psychiatric care for patients attending the Eating Disorders Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Programs at BC Children’s Hospital.  An experienced Psychiatrist, you bring expertise in psychiatric assessment, treatment and management to this critical role.  Participating in the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and related eating disorders, you will provide comprehensive care and treatment for patients and their families.

You hold a fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, with a Psychiatric specialty, and are eligible for licensure in British Columbia.  Training and experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is required while specialized training in eating disorders is preferred. You will use your extensive hands-on experience and background in treating complex clinical problems to support the ongoing education of our team and to further the mental health of children and adolescents within the province of British Columbia. 

Housed in a purpose built Mental Health Building at BC Children’s Hospital, the Eating Disorders Program, part of a provincial tertiary care network, offers multiple components, including 14 inpatient beds, 6 day treatment beds, and a large outpatient service serving  75-85 outpatients who attend one or more of our three weekly clinics. Outpatients are also offered meal support therapy as part of their treatment plan.

FACULTY RESEARCHER IN EATING DIORDERS

The Division of Adolescent Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center seeks a faculty member specializing in eating disorders research.  An MD or PhD is required; faculty rank and salary are commensurate with the candidate’s experience, training and achievements.  Cincinnati Children’s has an active annual caseload of approximately 180 patients with eating disorders, primarily anorexia nervosa.  These patients generate 1,500 medical visits per year, with about 50 hospitalizations annually.  Collaboration with registered dietitians, mental health providers and medical physicians available.

• The AWH Nurse provides instruction, counseling, and education for the treatment of the illness or medicine, and assesses and treats health problems appropriately.  Assists physician with basic information regarding examinations, special tests, procedures, and care.  Act as a liaison between patient/family and the physician, staff, and outside care agencies.  Perform follow-ups including returning phone calls, processing lab result, compiling reports, and maintain paperwork.  Serve as a resource for staff.  Participate in activities, workshops, and other educational opportunities.

• Graduate of an accredited course of study in nursing required – LPN or RN.  Experience and interest in mental health nursing desirable.  Interest in working with clients with eating disorders.

Physical Therapist

• Current Minnesota licensure as a physical therapist required.  Eating-disorder experience preferred, but not required.  5+ years as a PT or related health and wellness field.  Experience collaborating with other therapy services strongly preferred.
• Physical Therapy is a new addition to The Emily Program!  In addition to the above requirements, we are looking for someone with an innovative mind and ability to see how physical therapy can be incorporated into the way The Emily Program provides healing for our clients.  This person will be involved in providing personalized therapy for under-eaters and compulsive over-eaters.  Will work closely with other staff, including Therapists, Psychiatrists, and Registered Dietitians, to provide the best possible care.  Will be involved in deciding what kind of equipment is needed for the program.

Family Services Program Coordinator & Therapist

• We are seeking a highly motivated clinician to coordinate and enhance our family and/or couples therapy services across all levels of care throughout The Emily Program, as well as provide therapy and clinical supervision to family therapy trainees. We’re looking for someone who can bring experience and vision to this exciting position, in order to grow the program.

Tucson, AZ: Mirasol is a CARF-accredited residential eating disorder treatment facility for women with a strong emphasis on mind-body-spirit healing. Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of practitioners from traditional psychiatry, psychotherapy, and medicine work closely with practitioners of complementary medicine to assess the biochemical relationship between the body, nutrition, and mental health for each client. We do not focus on behavior extinction, but rather on identifying the root of the problem and developing new ways of communicating and coping that restore and maintain overall balance. We are currently looking for a gifted therapist to join our team. This position requires a Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or psychology and at least three years of professional experience. Attending Psychiatrist

LOCATION
Residential Treatment Facility located in Chicago, IL

SUMMARY
Serves as attending psychiatrist including conducting medical and psychiatric evaluations; developing and implementing treatment plans; prescription of psychotropic medications; and monitoring and evaluating treatment results. Functions as a leader of the inter-disciplinary treatment team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
2. Leads interdisciplinary treatment team by developing and reviewing treatment plans and progress; consulting and collaborating with nurses, therapists and Behavioral Health Specialists.
3. Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications.
4. Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards, rules, Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations requirements, and legal regulations.
5. Participates in utilization review and case management.
6. Maintains medical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events; writing summaries.
7. Participates in on-call roster to provide 24/7 coverage with one-hour response time.
8. Provides staff training and professional development as indicated.
9. Participates in community outreach and marketing activities for the facility and promotes exceptional customer service throughout the program.
10. Facilitates active resident and family participation in the treatment process.
11. Reviews resident and staff satisfaction surveys and customer complaints and the results of monitoring standards. Initiates quality corrective action as indicated and monitors identified improvements.
